In life, one has to understand & appreciate their role as the salt and light of the world. God has given you an assignment, but you are in no position to pursue it if you don’t know your purpose in life. When out of the assignment, it means you are salt that has lost its flavour. You & I are unique, so are our gifts. Therefore, why are you misusing your gift? It has been reiterated by so many thought leaders that the cemetery is one of the richest places anywhere in the world. The reason being that many people are buried with their gifts, ideas and innovations which were never explored. In Matthew 5:13, the bible says “you are good for nothing and deserving to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. That literally means, why should anyone give you the time of day when you are not adding value? It is your responsibility to identify your purpose and pursue it with vigour. Dr Mike Murdock once said, “your wealth is waiting for you in the place of your assignment.”

Some are called to be Apostles, Teachers, Pastors, Evangelists and Prophets, together forming the fivefold ministry. An organization is made of up different departments but all with the same corporate objectives. The body is made up different parts making a perfect human being. Failure to understand this simple principle leads to your own demise i.e. you become your own enemy. Have you ever bothered to question if you are living your own dream or not? The answer to your breakthrough or promotion lies within – look in the mirror and deal with the individual you see. In anything, never take the responsibility away from yourself. Make it your resolution before entering 2020 to get to know yourself.

As hard as it might be, even in persecution, stay true to your calling and continually inspire others. Daniel, Misheck, Shadrach and Abednego are great examples, made Eunuchs in captivity, they stayed resolute and true to their God and calling. It is never easy. Nevertheless, for your benefit, it is essential that you develop a ‘never give up’ attitude. This attitude is indispensable in an environment that intends to keep you bound and a slave. At times, you don’t need to fight the system but assimilate and prepare for your day of visitation – “time and chance happen to us all”. According to Sun Tzu, “it’s a matter of strategy and understanding timing.” Hence, in His omniscience, “God advises us to be wise as serpents”.

In addition to salt seasoning i.e. mentorship and coaching, you should be a light to the world, inspiring and motivating others i.e. leadership. You cannot afford to hide because when good men are silent, evil triumphs. Your gift is not only for you but for the world and most importantly future generations. When you fail as an individual, the impact is generational. Hence, the sins of the fathers are to the third & fourth generations. When political, church or corporates leader fails, it affects everyone in the downline. A great example from the bible is the life of Hezekiah. Hezekiah messed up and sentence the next generations to seventy years in captivity. Daniel and his friends were made eunuchs in the process because of one foolish act of their king.

The greatest legacy one can leave as an inheritance to their posterity are success principles and a right path for them to walk. The cry is Matthew 3:3 was to prepare the way and make the path straight. What’s the point of leaving wealth and riches to your children without a place to enjoy it? We have a responsibility to preserve our Nations by keeping God in our communities and raising our children accordingly. The environment is important. God could have easily blessed Abram in the land of his fathers, instead, He gave him a foreign land that flowed with milk and honey. Therefore, it is imperative that as we pursue success, we empower each other, equip the next generations while transforming our environments.
